Depending on who it is, I will either say "you can't afford for me to fix it but here is a friend of mine who can help......"

Or if they are in a business or trade that I can leverage then we can always barter something

No one asks me. I'd probably #### it up even more. Fact.

I don't mind the odd request for advice if someone can follow instructions but when it comes to sitting in front of their computer for hours on end, I'm afraid I simply avoid doing it. Full stop.

Nothing worse than spending many hours setting up a computer only to have the telephone ring a week or two later with the "Something's wrong with the computer again," rubbish.

Does my head in when you are 'expected' to waste two or three days a month fixing something that could have been prevented by a five-minute read of some instructions. So now I 'don't do computers'.

I fixed my neighbor's computer the other day, today he told me he wants me to go racing with him this weekend.... The wife already said I can't spend the money to go (since I went last weekend), but he (the neighbor) said he'd pay my way in. So his computer is fixed, and I'm going racing! W00t! No beer from him, though. Un-W00t.

Well I usually don't mind fixing someone's computer or building a website. But I did get annoyed when my mom used to tell family about how I could fix their computer or build a website on such date/time and/or such way. She should of just told them to speak to me about the problem.
