how do you guys research keywords ?

I use googles KW lookup

 

I say Google Adwords keyword search also. They have the most accurate statistics because their the top search engine. I never tried using other than that anyways, so I don't think there's something else. If you guys do know one, it will be helpful to post it here. And, hope it's free.. hehe

 

There are free tools and the Google keyword tool is excellent and everyone should use a keyword tool prior to starting any related marketing campaign. The tools are there to make money, it's just about finding a way which suits you best and a formula that drives traffic and sales and then just repeat the process.

The Google Keyword Tool is alright, it is certainly better than winging it on your own. I like to be very certain of my investments in new niche's so I use Market Samurai. It really is the best tool out there. There is so data at your fingertips that it has saved me from spending money buying domains many a time.

My advice: try out Market Samurai for a few days (its free without limitations), mess around with the data and filters, then compare it to Google Keyword.

The best way to get good keywords is to get words about your site like for example your genre or what you website is about.

 

I am using keywordspy.com to research keywords that I am going to use. This website also show the current CPC and search volume of articular keywords. Very useful

 

for a niche i use google wonder wheel - i like the graphical simplicity. from here i get niches with long tail keywords then i fire up google keyword tool for deeper research. I then calculate the supply demand ratio to check if the niche is viable. then i go for a domain name!

 

so far I'm depend only on Google Keyword Tools
