How do you guys get the number of competing entries for bum keyword analysis.

Just wondering what tool you use for this. Personally I like the google adword tool for keyword analysis, particularly now they give actual volume numbers. But if you want to get the number of competing pages for a search term in quotes for a list of keywords, you dont want to have to just type them in.

Keyword elite looks pretty good, but thought I would see what you guys are using.

    Thanks for any help.

You can just search "keyword phrase" in Google. I like to search intitle:"keyword phrase" as it's a bit more specific. If someone hasn't put the phrase in their title, they aren't really competing.

    edit...

Oh sorry - I see you are asking for software... Hmm.. Yes I have keyword elite - it will do this for you. But I usually end up doing them one by one anyway - rather than building a huge list at first. I guess it depends on what you are doing. I tend to come up with keyword phrases one by one for my articles/web 2.0 properties.

I found a free solution for this. GTrends made easy.

The tool is not doing alot else, but I am able to take a keyword list I have generated in the google keyword tool, download the list, paste it into GTrends made easy and it then goes and gets the number of competing entries in google (with quotes) for the list. Then paste these values back to my google data, and I have a keyword list with actual google search volumes and competing entries.
