Thanks for the help. I'm going to start implementing some of the things you've suggested and hopefully that'll help.
I had a look at your site and if your only making $8 a month from all that traffic your not maximising your traffic. Your biggest problem is ad placement, most of your ads (not just AdSense) aren't in the right sort of places for high CTR. I used to run a lot of right sidebar sites, but that sort of layout isn't ideal for good ad placement. I try to have a left sidebar as it makes adding an ad in a hot AdSense click area much easier. Take a look at the images at http://www.45-year-old-millionaire.co.uk/doubled-my-adsense-ctr.html to see what I mean. I've found through experimentation that the ad layout on http://www.free-recipes.co.uk/ (runs WordPress BTW using this theme http://www.google-adsense-templates...talian-with-adsense-and-seo-optimisation.html) has a very good CTR. Had that exact layout almost a month now and the average CTR is just under 6% (over double what it used to be), that's based on over 150,000 ad impressions, so a nice amount of traffic. Added Chitka Mini Mall Ads yesterday to try them out (not very themed to my content though) and I've not seen a drop in AdSense CTR over the last 24hrs (though too early to be 100% sure). I just wish that niche had better advertisers, I make about 8 cents a click from AdSense, which is why I'm trying other things. So far tried Amazon ad blocks (like you see on the left menu of http://www.classic-literature.co.uk/) and they performed poorly. Tried adding specific related ads from CJ and after 200,000+ impression had ZERO sales!! I was shocked I didn't get one sale. Currently trying Clickbank links to specific product on the top of the right menu (Top 5 Recipe Books section) and after about 5 days had 2 sales, made me $28 (good thing about Clickbank is the % affiliates get, 75% isn't uncommon) so probably worth leaving those 5 links to Clickbank products worthwhile (nofollowed, so not wasting PR/link benefit). I've had success with Clickbank before, but with specific reviews (so a page reviewing the product), this is my first lazy use of Clickbank Plan to try Kontera if they ever give me something called a tag for this site! Oh yeah, also tried selling ebooks from this site for $2 each, only added 2 ebooks and after a couple of weeks had no sales so removed them. David Law
Hi, I just looked at your website. There are some issues regarding to your adsense placement. If you like to make more money with your adsense, then you have to get rid of all those affiliate links on your website. Everyone knows that every single click counts in your adsense revenue but it is not the same with affiliate links. Your visitors maybe click on your Build Your Own Website, HS, emusic, and etc affiliate links but you do not get any cent for that till someone buys them. If you really want to make at least $25 everyday with your traffic, then take off all scripts with affiliate programs and replace them with adsense with a nice placement and try to blind your adsense that everyone clicks on them automatically. I hope I could help you out.
You need alot od traffic with visitors searching for info. This may be medical advice, credit card debt to vacations. Look at the ads on different sites that make you click. What are they targeting? Write an article that will put those ads on your site.
