How do you get your blog listed on google?

    I feel like I have followed all the steps but nothing? It comes up, but it's a link to a post and the description is all wrong? I've edited my description but still nothing?

    Please any info or help would be greatly appreciated

    How many backlinks have you gotten for your site? How long has it been up? How many times have you changed the description/title tags?

    All these are factors in getting indexed in Google. If your site is fairly new, give it some time. Not all sites are indexed properly after one or two weeks.

    As you are saying that it comes up with wrong description...actually the description to be displayed is decided by the search engine and depends on the search queries too! Specially MSN (Bing) may change your description and may NOT Adhere to Meta description prescribed by you.

    If Google has crawled your website in the absence of Meta description... it will take some time to update the same.

    Here are some tips to get your blog listed on Google faster

    - Blog Community: If you join cumminities like MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog etc... then google willl deifintely index your blog
    - Site Evaluation and Site stats: Some of those How Much Your Site Worth? sites have a good ranking in Search Engines. All you need to do is to go there and check how much your site worth. This would create a special page for your blog (like this) and consecutively it would be indexed by Google. Here is a list of worthy sites: WebsiteOutlook, StatBrain, CubeStat, WebTrafficAgents, BuiltWith, WhoIs, QuarkBase, URLfan and AboutTheDomain.
    - Feed Aggregator: List your blog on major Feed Aggregators.. They will highlight your post and index them in their site
    - Social Sites: Create a Social Profiel with the same name as of your blog
    - Misc Sites: Join other sites like Squidoo, Technirati, ChangeDetection... Including your feed on these websites would help your blog get indexed by search engine.

    do as follow:

    1.) do keyword research on your blog
    2.) build sitemap.xml and rss feeds (IMPORTANT)
    3.) submit them to google / yahoo / bing
    4.) Get heavy backlinks from PR3~PR4 sites usually mixing up with some PR1~2
    5.) Submit Articles and get backlinks from them~ (as article backlinks show up in google index fast)
    6.) be as helpful as possible in DP forum, and get your signature noticed~

    Hope that helps, simple ways that are proven to work.....sooner or later....
