I am new to the affiliate game, and am trying to research what has worked for DP members and what hasn't. Please feel free to let me and the other members know what has worked for you...and what to stay away from. It would be a great help to myself and any other members trying to learn the art of affiliate marketing...

    Hey, mate

SEO is one of the cheapest methods to drive traffic for most beginners so this is something you want to look into.

Since you know SEO, then idea is pretty simple, you create 30-100 page website around niche, e.g. weight loss and offer weight loss exercises and diet products to your visitors.

This said - probably it will be a review website or blog reviewing popular products accompanied with good amount of unique content on general weight loss topics.

MoreNiche has some good free guides you might find useful since you're a SEO.

    Good luck

I have had a lot of success with creating a review style page on an authority site like squidoo and then using the right tools to get lots of backlinks to that page.

Its much less complicated and time consuming than creating a large website from scratch and because google already loves squidoo its easy to get ranked.

Most times I have between 5-9 out of the top 10 spots for my highly targeted long tail keywords on google when i use squidoo with a keyword rich domain using dashes like-this-dot-whatever

and using couple tools called senuke and microniche finder.

microniche finder will help you find highly targeted but less competitive keywords to optomize for.

senuke when used properly and not abused as a black hat tool will help you get multiple top 10 listings. You can basically dominate the first 3 pages of google, yahoo, and msn if done correctly.

Since you have experience with seo it might be necessary but for anyone else considering se nuke you better spend a great deal of time in the forum first before you launch anything and ask questions if you are unsure.

If you don't you can get your stuff sandboxed in a matter of hours or worse banned completely.

Let me just ask this: I have become pretty familiar with Wordpress, and have built about 4 blogs now, all of which are automated. What do most of you experienced affiliate marketers do after you build your blogs? Please be specific if possible...

I would say some of the best & free method in getting traffic to your site is by doing joint venture, forum marketing, article marketing, blogging & many more. However, the most crucial aspect is not how many visitors you get, but... how many visitors that are converted into customers..

There's also a little secret where you can easily get paid with clickbank simply just by showing your own webpage to your visitors..

If you like to know more on this little known secret, you can check it out on my signature link below.. :)

    I use all these:

SEO: takes a while to get decent traffic
PR: need to have a decent site and story/hard work to get mass coverage
    PPC: quickest for traffic
EMAIL: need to be resourceful in finding your list/takes time to build a list

I run by this rule: if you can make it work on PPC, you're onto a winner
