I built a forum under my seo directory please help me get traffic to my new forum!!! I thought of offering a free one way link for anyone who creates an account and post's a message. Please help me!!
and you are welcome to write a couple of topics in my forum about destinations all over the world. Please register at http://www.citygbg.se/forum/ and add a topic from your country, hometown or a place you've visited. You are able to write your url in the signature and it will come in every topic you write. Give me your adress and maybe I've got some tips to come with.
If you use the link for a message system you'll likely end up with far too many links, and far too many users only posting once. I suggest a forum posting company (see the link in my sig) and for you to put the link in your signature for forums, as well as sending the link to related websites, asking them if they could include you in an upcoming article or something along those lines. If you head over to the 'Promotion Techniques' forum you're bound to get some extremely useful information as well.
Driving traffic to a forum can be a bit tough in initial stages.. I would like to share my experience here.. I took the domain indiaforums.info in end of Jan 06, made the forum and it was up in first week of Feb. Initially there were so less posts and many categories.. I requested my friends to have a go at the forum and that created some posts. This along with a couple of my own logins put some content to show for the other visitors. My next step was creating an adwords campaign, but choosing a low priced segment. Kept my daily budget low and started driving traffic. This again gave me some more visitors and posts.. Now the situation is that my forum started appearing in SERPs of google, msn and yahoo and I am getting an average 160 uniques per day, naturally.. My adword campaign is paused for a while.. Hope this traffic gets increased without much effort..
1. Incentives. If you have the $$$ you should offer prizes for X number of quality posts. That has worked for me in several of my forums. 2. Get your friends to post. I bribed my friends in the beginning to post in my forums to get them off the ground. 3. Look for other forum owners to exchange posts. Offer to post in their new forums in exchange for them posting in yours. If you're broke this is a great way to get going. Sweat equity is sometimes the best way to go. 4. Links, links, and more links from relevant. (see links forum for more on this).
I assume that he was suggesting a signature link (signature promotion) which is not stealing...most forum posters do it, including yourself.
quick question, how does exchanging posts work. I'm assuming this would have to be with a forum totally unrelated? I just can't see myself posting on a competitor.
Post exchanging is when you contact another forum admin and say something like "I will make 10 posts on your forums if you make 10 on mine" You can do this with any forums you'd like...whether a direct competitor or something that is totally unrelated - both of you must agree to exchange, of course.
I f i contact a forum owner and say i will make 10 post on your forum if you make 10 post on my forum, whats the point. why dont you just make 10 on your forum then jump over to the other forum and just make one or 2 posts if you want to get you sig some attention?
im guessing this is because your own forum will seem stale and you may be at a loss for content. getting some fresh eyes on it may lead to better posts, and the posts will seem more natural. If anyone interested in exchanging posts with me, im interested. I run a billiard related forum. Would be interested in exchanging postS!
if your too busy than you can install smf forum and smf shop which is for smf rc 2 and it will give your forum users points/virtual money by which they can buy options which they can make enable or change / increase like they can change their display name / increase karma really smf forum is nice one myself too uses it but due to slow net connection i am unable to upgrade smf forum
