Yeah I have a good idea for a forum niche and I just want to know how get people to post amd how to advertise a forum
1) It helps if the forum is unique - and about something people want to talk about (most people get these things wrong) 2) You can advertise on similar forums - try to walk a fine line between spamming and including your link along with your posts 3) Generally a small Adwords campaign can help you out - I've been able to get 500 users to sign up at one of my past forums for about $100 in PPC advertising with Adwords
you can try hiring people to post on your forum to make it look active so when people do come to your forum they see it is active and will want to stay.
First all at, you need to have good knowledge or good network. Then, you need to make a lot of posts before get member to make post on your forum
#1 rule to getting people to post on your forums are easy. Have something they want that no one else have. Make it where they need a certain amount of posts to access a certain forum, AND possibly a [hide] me tag that only shows content after they responded with well worthy content.
You can do the following: - If you post on other forums, have the signature link to your forum in all of your posts. - See about exchanging links with relevant sites. - Start open-ended threads about topics that will get conversations started with the visitors you do have. - Visit sites for webmasters like this one to get ideas about how to optimize your site for search engines. - Consider purchasing text links via Google Adsense or directly on sites that have a similar demographic to your site.
There's like a 50/50 chance someone would post on his/her forum with what you just stated. People look for: Free Stuff, Support for certain niches. If you can provide it, you WILL get people posting and if you dominate at that niche, your site will be known on the A Lists forum for support/free stuff for that certain niche. Look at warez sites as a "common" example. People love free stuff. Each warez site has atleast ONE thing that no other site has. Most of those sites force you to register and reply. Or force you to get active to get content. Another example is windows vista support forums. If someone finds, creates a fix for the wireless lag issue's on vista. You will get TONS of traffic, posters etc.. You just have to have what everyone else is looking for. Even with minimal advertisement on other forums, you could start SEOing your pages to the maximum and build links and start getting organic traffic from google. Because theres the #1 place people go to, to find anything they "NEED" or truely "want".
As an experiment, I set up a posting forum "just to see what would happen." I chose to make it a rant and rave forum; everybody's got something to complain or cheer about, right? It took me the entire Memorial Day weekend, minus time out for evening social events, to set this thing up. Within two weeks of putting it out there, I had ninety members. NINETY! That's a pretty decent-sized group.
Try making controversial topics by yourself or hire paid posters to do this. Then advertise your forum so real people will flock to your forum.
if you want to sign up people on your forum then make sure that your forum's discussion is unique and all members are active and you have a lot of posts on your forum before people sign up on it. i think it works
