How do you get people to post ads in a brand new classifieds site?

    Should I initially keep it registration-free as some people might not be bothered to register to add an ad?

    How do you get people to post when there is very little traffic (potential buyers) when a site is new?

    It's a catch-22. No one will post until there are other posts so you get stuck.

    I know if it's too open you'll be spending time everyday cleaning up the spam junk that will inevitably be posted on your site.

    I know. It is a catch 22, but do you think it is possible to avoid spam by having a CAPTCHA? Initially I want to make it as simple as possible for people to ads an ad.

    How can I make the site look busier in the first few weeks so people submit ads?
