visit to http://www.google.com/products and enter the desired product. Then you will get list of items for that product. In that page only there are few options on left side through which you can narrow your search.

    Hope this answers your question,

Read all about it at the following. You'll need to sign up for some type of free Google account, and then list your products either one by one or via data feed.

    http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/products/submit.html

The thing that will determine whether you show up on regular search results, like in your image, is governed by your relevance score. In other words, the extend to which you have SEO'd and promoted the page on your website where that particular product is listed.

but surely there must be a need to be a real merchant....no ?

I doubt anyone with a review and an affiliate link would get included.

    Is that correct ?

Once somebody clicks on your listing, they're redirected to you web-site. What is the point to be listed in google products, if you do not have online store?
