It depends. Some will have your site listed if you bribe them. Although some have very high moral standards and makes sure your site is never listed if you try to bribe them.
Hello... Well i would assume that you submitted in wrong category just like you did here which is why it was deleted. Try submitting it once again and hope for the best and when asking DMOZ questions try this section of the forum http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=66 thx M1
Thanks M1 for your help. I don't believe my submission deleted and I'm pretty certain I didn't submit to the wrong category... I apologize for doing that here. How do you find out who the moderator is?
It takes months to get listed on DMOZ, that is why people actually pay for the BOTW directory. Both are PR 9 but BOTW is like $100 to $250 per submission and takes 3 days to get listed whereas DMOZ is run by AOL so it takes forever :-P
I am not even en editor and even I know that is not try. If you submit to the wrong category, the editor just moves it to the right category and you wait all over again. which is against the guidelines. No wonder people have trouble with DMOZ with all this misinformation being spread!
I have heard now a days, at least from last a year, no new entry is getting listed in DMOZ. Need to verify this. Anybody knows any editor/mod of DMOZ?
All i know is that its a submit and forget about it type of directory, best you can do is to select the most suitable category, follow their guidelines and dont keep resubmitting.
Read between the lines... In other words if you want answers seek the correct place I have a site listed in DMOZ myself that took 2-3 months to get listed after i submitted only once... laterz malcolm
The BOTW directory might make some sense... I'm showing a PR of 6 on that though... am I reading that wrong?
Does anyone know why exactly DMOZ takes so long? Is it because they use volunteers? I would love a DMOZ listing, but have not bothered to apply... 'cos I know it takes forever
I worked with a editor to get my site listed. He was not the editor of the category I wanted in, but knew exactly what they look for in a site. For a small fee he evaluated my site and made suggestions to my DMOZ submission.
