I see sometimes when i type keywords photos of things related to the keywords will show up ie. Turtle in google will show photos of turtles on the first page. Is there a tecnique or strategy to do that?
Google will index your photos during regular crawl, make sure to use descriptive alt text to rank for keywords.
Google spidered some of my images on a site that I never did anything with as far as search engine friendliness goes. Its probably not the fastest, but just letting you know google will find it regardless.
yep your alt tags and you can also add a title tag but they can't spider image content yet - maybe in a future world but not yet. Only the hand on the wall fella (The Word) & his boys can likely do that as of yet! It is also presently the easiest searches to manipulate with totally irrelevant images to match the picture content as opposed to the crawled words used to list them imho. EG it's easy to put a pic of a gorilla and name the alt and title as paris hilton and that be the thing that is taken as the image subject. That is to say a gorilla pic can get found for a Paris Hilton search in as things work until/unless you get flagged for being a prankster and even then it could still work in reverse for various reasons.

google spider cannot directly crawl into an image, the only thing that it can do is to look for the contents that are surrounding the image. The alt tag, the heading tag, the content, everything is taken into consideration while indexing the image. Image optimization is done this way.
Making your image a featured result is tricky, you will need to get a lot of image links, normal links, hotlinks to that image, the image itself should be a high quality image and extremely relevant to the query, to increase the relevancy and ur chances u will also need to use : - Relevant image ALT tag - Relevant image Filename - Relevant surrounding text - Relevant overall page theme Good luck (believe me u will need it because google is sometimes a strange creature)
