How do you get a web design job?

I've been doing jobs for business clients through my school (internship program) for a while now designing stuff like websites and brochures. Design wise I feel okay, code wise I'm pretty limited after HTML and some Java and CSS. :p

Anyways I need a real job some day. My internship pays almost nothing since the school claims 75%+ of the money we make and the rest is spread out between everyone who worked on the project.

So... I wouldn't actually know where to begin. lul

Arg, I hate networking so much that I've barely done it at all. Why? I hate people lul. I of course can manage, after all I do work with clients and they seem more then happy with me. However secretly I am just not a people person by choice. XP

Portfolio is coming though, be it slower then I would have hoped.

I've been looking at the same sort of career field lately too, I'm pretty young too or w/e. I'm really trying to learn PHP to a fluent level because the minimum salary I saw for fluency in PHP was $75,000 - $150,000 a year. I'm working more on the coding of it cause I normally just looked at tutorials and copy/pasted the whole script they made when I should have coded it.

But anywho, I'm fluent in html, css, and i can certainly work with javascript. PERL and JAVA wouldn't be bad to learn either btw.
