Hello, I'm curious as to how you get a site off the ground without polluting it with a million non relevant backlinks. Thanks in advance for any help. I appologize for my noobishness at this particular topic. Happy Holidays. -Steven
Google adwords does the trick. The only thing is you only have to hope to have something good enough to sell that'll be worth it.
I would go with the million non revelant backlinks, some of them would have to be revelant. It worked for me.
What type of site is it? Are you trying to sell something, or are you trying to drive traffic and make ad revenue? If you are trying to sell something I would test out adwords. If you have a good product it can be a quick way to get some targeted traffic that will hopefully convert for you. If you are just trying to drive traffic I would take the time to establish a few strong backlinks and write some well thought out and relevant content. If you are consistant you will start to see results!
Yeah, give us your URL because the type of site you have would heavily influence on what marketing strategy you decide to use.
www.exploretheus.com and www.moviereel.org Both are currently undeveloped. Exploretheus.com will have city and travel info but primarily tourist attractions and maps to such. I havent decided on what I want to do with MovieReel yet.
If its a content site, concentrate on content and building up links gradually. Submit to a few free directories and do few (just a few) highly relevant link exchanges even oif you only mange it with other PR0 sites. Also, you can buy a few ontopic links on other sites.
$10 a month (still in college) =P I'm going to market exploretheus.com first... and then moviereel. Once I hit my yahoo payout, I'm going to spend the entire hundred on marketing. I think if I did the submission, posted in a few forums, and bought 10 or so relevant back-links a month that it could take off... or so I hope =)
Ekk, thats not really a lot. Guess you should focus on free things - http://www.prleap.com, forum postings, link exchanges, etc. Good luck.
