How do YOU first drive traffic to your Youtube account?

Just curious here. I just started my first youtube account and it's been hard to get views. I've read lots of articles on the subject and am aware of various methods but I'm curious what YOU did when you first started your channel. Was it organic? Did you have to promote?

With my channel most of my views are organic. I do make sure I share the video on social media after uploading it to get more views, so it does help if you do that too. Especially if you have built up your social media account to have a huge following/friend list. And just continue to produce content regularly which helps increase your subscribers.

 

I write articles to increase my traffic. Also create great back links!

I think youtube is all about the content. good content will attract viewers which will make youtube to recommend it on users home page.

Part of it is SEO. Picking good keywords to try to rank for. As mentioned before, posting to several social media sites will help also.
You might also try back links, but that can be tricky.
