Then in general I doubt anyone will help you sorry :(

generating leads is too generic a statement to spend time on. Shame really as I am a shit hot salesperson who for many years generated leads offline and converted them into sales. I took that online and did ok, before moving into SEO as a challenge after having success with some of the early sites I designed (many many years ago lol).

One word of advice I will give you though, is that if YOU do not have clear in your own mind what you want to achieve, then you have very little chance of succeeding at it. When asked what you need, you should instantly be able to spout out what you wish to achieve without a second thought.

certainly, but first you are going to have to post some background information on your potential perfect customer. Please don't say 'anyone who wants to make some more money' or I will spit blood lol.

Lay out your business model here and then you can reverse engineer how to find them. E.G 'business opportunity' could be a tupperwear party, or it could be introducing internet start up companies to tax avoidance schemes via offshore trusts. Would you use the same methods to attract customers for these two business opps? Of course not. This is why I suggest more information ;)

I am new to this forum but not new to marketing. In my experience the best way to attact new leads (customers) is by networking. Having a website is only a small piece of running a business. Even some of the major sites out there like Adobe, Macromedia, EBay, Amazon does lots of networking by either hosting, sponsoring or attending tradeshows, conferences, etc. You need to get out there and take advantage of letting everyone know about your site, product and/or services.

For example, if I were to spend 6 months promoting my site with banner ads, PPC, email marketing and such, my ROI would be ok. If I were to spend 6 hours at a tradeshow or networking meeting my ROI would be about 90% better in just one evening. The key to this is to go to meetings/tradeshows that is related to your field. If you are a Chef, it makes no sense to go to a gamers convention and expect to get any sales.
