My suggestion: Don't do PPC with Amazon unless you have very deep pockets.

You need to invest a *significant* amount in PPC to make it worth your while, and with the current economic downturn, you're just as likely to lose money as people are still clicking, but they're not buying.

You're unlikely to make anything with PPC until you break the 7.5% threshold, which is over 300 sales per month. If you're *very* lucky, you'll get a 5% conversion rate. That's 5 sales per 100 clicks. Say you get lucky and find some products where you can get $0.10 clicks. That's $10 in PPC for 5 sales, so you'd need to make OVER $2 per sale, which means promoting $30 items.

Sounds doable right? Well, you have to compete with the Amazon marketing machine who also does PPC which drive the price of most clicks well beyond the $0.20 range, many much much higher.
