How do you find out the CPC for an individual Ad?

In a thread about blocking certain ads because they have low CPC, people seemed to be able to tell how much each ad was paying per click. How did they get this information?

Adwords has a bid tool, but there are other factors that determine how much an ad costs - so it would be impossible to know. The same ad on different sites, or even on the same site, different weeks, will vary in pay even though the advertiser has not changed their bid.

The only way we know is when a particular channel only gets one click for the day.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. I have also noticed that on two sites with the same ads receive totally different payouts. I am sure they have their formula on how this is determined.

You can use a third party real-time tracker to track the clicks and then compare it with your channel stats. Granted there is some delay in the channel stats but if you are monitoring early in the day when there are few clicks, you can figure out the individual CPCs. Nice thing about third party trackers is that they also tell you exactly which ads were clicked on.
