I have been doing some research and I have come to the conclusion it may benefit me to deep link my blog. The positive to negative outcomes look greater. Whats every one elses take on deep linking? Just curious.
I believe deep linking is always better than linking just to the main domain. It creates multiple doorways to your website / blog - for search engine spiders and for the readers. And if done correctly, it brings your visitors right to the content that they want!
I think that deep linking and home page linking, both are important. One should do both of these of get good ranking results. Deep linking is very beneficial especially when you want to rank the internal pages high in SERPs.
Deep linking is very beneficial. I've had real good luck when looking for deep links on my blogs by submitting to a blog carnival related to my topic of choice. Even with just a couple links, it really helps with the lower competition and long tail keyword phrases I'm looking to rank for on the interior pages.
Deep links help your site home page too if your sub pages are a sub topic of your niche. The links to inner pages put more focus on your entire niche and as a result you'll see your home page keywords rise in the SERPs from deep links.
Many natural links are deep links where an article or blog cites one of your articles / pages as reference. I would encourage deep linking. I see you can have another SIG link, you should try to put a link to an internal page there.
good thing about deep linking is that the inner page of your site will able to rank on search engines and that people can visit your inner page....
IMP, deep-linking is now an essential part of SEO. It becomes easier for pages to do well in SERP's if there are a couple of links to it. Even links from PR0 pages can make a big difference. (Assuming these pages are indexed by Google). e.g. A couple of links for dofollow social bookmarking sites can improve your rankings dramatically. Try and get as many deep-links as you can.
