You're always seeing wordpress sponsored links for sale. And I don't condemn coders for wanting to earn a little cash for their hard work. My question is how effective do you feel buying links #1 - #3 on WP themes? So this means anytime someone uploads this theme and uses it, there will be your link on the footer of said theme. So if the theme is nice and thousands use it, that would be lots of backlinks..? Your thoughts?
Yeh you will get backlinks from them, and some of them will be valuable but I'm not sure how much traffic will come from them.
Yeah I doubt you would get any traffic from them, but it may help search engine rankings. That depends on how good the theme is and if the people who use it market the blog or not. It would be more of a long term strategy as it would take a while to see any benefits. If the price is low enough, it may be worth it. If your link is of universal interest it may get some direct traffic. It does seem like a bit of a shot in the dark. With one theme it might work well and with another it could be a big waste of money.
I agree. You'd have to know if the designer is reputable with his wordpress designs, in addition sponsoring a theme that would be desirable. Also, I think if possible... sponsor a theme in your niche.
There are a lot better ways to get links and they don't have to cost anything, in addition to the fact that Google frowns on paid links. Creating online relationships and friendships in the same or similar fields will benefit you much more and cost less.
wordpress footer links are some unusefull. I think you should buy website's footer links. They best helpful.
even if you don't get that much traffic from them you still will be potentially getting 1000's of backlinks, which would increase your page rank for the keywords you used. Once that is done or in the process, I would suggest starting an additional campaign that DOES generate traffic for the keyword (anchor text) you used. this way you will have a higher page rank when those keywords are being searched. So I think it might be a valuable strategy. =)
If the theme is average, it's just waste of money...Most people try to remove the footer links even if it is encrypted.
Your link will have no relevance or context on the page... so it really won't add much weight at all! You'd be better off buying a few permanent contextual links or blogposts.
