How Do You Feel About AdSense on Short Pages?

    Hi,

I am looking at a new site with very few words of text per page. As an example, think of a glossary like site with just a definition on each page, say 50 odd words. Now if this page had a links unit on the top and one or two blocks of Adsense around, how would you feel about it?

I know one of the suggestions that jumps out of my question is to combine more than one page and make it look more "decent." All the same, how would you feel if the page had only 50 odd words on it?

    Thanks
    Ajeet

Sounds okay, but not very SEO savvy though.

Will look some crappy if design is not good but if design is fine sometimes NO WORDS ALSO work.. but keep this in mind that with less content base adsense will not be able to give much relevant ads

I think you would be better of combining the pages to make it look more decent

I think you may also need some other stuff on the page or more words. If you don't then it may look like one of them adsense sites that are just built so that you can earn from adsense and that is it. With just 50 words and 1 ads unit and two block units then I would imagin that the Google ads will cover more of the page than the actually words.

I don't know though. If you design it well then you could pull it off.

Will you advertise it in google adwords? If so ok otherwise you should be good in SEO. I used to make small pages at starting days when I did not know much about search engine attracting later many people in forums advised me to have content to get good results in Google ads. I started creating huge pages it was very hard to create huge pages mainly in the topics that you never dealt with and even though google hardly showed reasult. I was very excited when I started getting $0.50 average after hard work of months, later when I knew that this is what happens when you are dummy in SEO. Later I knew that link exchange can improve search engine traffic crisis. When I joined a link exchange site from there when exchanging link I happened to go to web revenue optimizer's site I saw that they were ready take all upto them to make rise in my earning in adsense giving chat classes and manual help in website building. Then I again started making small pages which shows good result in google. I have small site but gives me good income. I am getting good income since about 5 months. I have some 15 small pages on medical. and small amount of other topics and about 10 pages relating to students but those pages sucks at time of summer vacation, last month my average had gone $38 and it came back to $31 this month. I have some 8 pages new which will I think increase to almost about $40 by the end of this month and after summer vacation will end those student related pages will again start to work I am very excited I wonder how will it be to get more than $50 per day wow! Long live google AdSense. Long live my google adsense account.

IF the space taken up by the ads is more than the actual written content I would stay away from it. It just looks too spammy, and from a visitor perspective it might seem as if you want to milk them for everything they got.
Also with little content on the page, it might cause lots of PSA to be shown.

Rather stick only one banner on the page. That should at least make it appear more balanced.

Thanks all for all the feedback. I did the following:

    * Added a relevant photo to all pages (different on all pages). So, now the content does not seem too little
    * Put one link unit and one ad unit only
    * Formatted the page so that the content "looks" substantial

For now it seems like it will work :)

    Thanks once again
