How do you fake page rank?

I saw a domain sale with PR 5 ranking but saying PR rank is not genuine. But on my google tool bar, its PR rank is 5. I am confused about it.

Why the owner says PR rank 5 is not genuine?

good question. I wanna know too.

It's fake because it is not geniune and what you see in your toolbar is not real. That's why it fakes!

Fake PR won't get anyone any were as soon as PR updates it changes back and before you buy a domain or links from someone you know to check for valid PR it is common sense.

Yes, but PR can be faked. So when you check it, its a fake PR. And when someone is selling you a domain, there is no way to absolutely make sure the PR is for real. Which is why faking PR actually works, because even the google toolbar will display the fake PR.

Then, PR is not reliable. Why people are so much affectionate about PR?
