How do you exchange links: 1. using any link exchange programs (which?) 2. using a reciprocal directory/link manager 3. the old fashioned way: add links manually and email other webmasters to add my site. Just curious which methods are "hot" now _Mike_
Mike, funny avatar! I like it. Don't mean to hijack the thread, but can anyone who has used these services give +'s and -'s of them. I've never used them and wondered if anyone really has success with a link exchange. Also, is it just an even exchange or do you have to pay? If pay, is paying worth it. (sorry maybe i should have started my own thread, but it all seems to fit here ....at your request I'll delete this post.) DotHQ.com
1: this is really bad. Almost all links of those programs doesn't fit your content, so for your pr it doesn't really matter, and every visitor you'll get won't look at your site but only wait till the next site appears 2: never tried it 3: it works, but it's slow. you'll have to invest a lot of time to get on a few sites. and for that paying, i wouldn't do it. Start at the bottom, link to low-rated sites. Then your pr raises, and search for higher pr sites and link to them. AdWords works also, but that costs money
I'm using linkmetro.com for link exchange. You can browse to search any site that relevant to your site and ask for a request. They will automatically do a reciprocal check on everysite that request linking from your site. So its quite good although some of the sites is really crap
I do a very little manual link exchanges. I do mostly completely automated 3-way link exchanges and have a directory of recip links related to my site that I manage using SolvoLink. Adam
Yeh, i've hired a couple people to do link exchanges & link building for me. If you want, PM me & I'll send you info on them after they finish the current project for me.
I'm now at manual link exchanges, but I think at some point I'll install a script to automate the process and buy some links.
