I am also on Click bank Ejunkie and Pay dot com How long does it normally take for people to take interest in your product?

 

You should try blog and forum context posting. Try to find real people, who will be interested in your product and affiliate program. Just waiting is not an option.

 

It all depends on your marketing strategy and most important is customer satisfaction.

Run an affiliate competition with big prizes for those that sell most.
Look for JVs with other product sellers - mail to their lists.
Get someone experienced to look at your sales page and see if it will convert - the best affiliates won't work with you unless your sales page rocks.
Use Clickbank.

I think with self help books you need to build a name for yourself. Try placing your book onto Kindle and getting a bunch of book bloggers to review your book. Market your book to the max and then mention to people there is an affiliate program to go with it. There is an old recipe book online that is the perfect example of how to sale people the idea of selling your book. I don't remember the name.. I think it's about chocolate however.... You will need to drive traffic to your sales page so that people can be aware of your product. If you use a blog, you should ping the blog directories everytime you create a new post. For a website, you can use article marketing, signature links on forums, joint ventures, create an affiliate program, etc. I also suggest that you sell it on the Kindle and other ereaders like the Nook.
