WRONG! PR means nothing. Traffic is what impacts your Adsense income along with click through rate and revenue per click. Those are the only three stats which matter.
Try target a niche audience who are more likely to click on ads. Certain sites do not make much money because their visitors have grown Adsense-blind...this is especially true techie-oriented sites.
You don't even need that much traffic if you can maintain an insanely high clickthrough rate. Focus first on getting and mantaining a very high CTR, when you can do that, do more of the same to get more traffic and keep that CTR.
Click on your own ads and get all your friends and relatives to click on your ads. Pay strangers to click on your ads. Put "click here" graphics on your site. No, no, wait, stop. I think I read these techniques in some other posts with titles such as "Why did my site get banned by Google" or "Google banned my site and kept my money". Seriously, traffic is the fundamental way. Mega-tons of traffic can even make up for low CTR, poor placement, low ad relevancy, and ad-blindness.
More websites, more traffic, better ads positioning, adding more content, writing about my sites, publishing articles... Putting links in my signatures
Unique content is important, but yea traffic is more important. However, if you wite good content visitors will come back which means more traffic.
Ok, so everyone says traffic is key.....but where do you get the traffic??? I get some from the main search engines, thru link exchanges, stumbleupon, banner exchanges, top sites, freebie sites and that's about it. In order to get more traffic from google, msn and yahoo...you need many backlinks, right? The more popular your site...the closer your site gets to #1?? Being at #3 position is ok for me, but my competitor being at #1 is getting most of the traffic!
there are so many variables but the usual checklist is: 1. Gain more organic traffic 2. experiment with ad placement 3. experiment with ad blending 4. continually add content 5. more promotion of your website 6. ensure you are compliant with the tos 7. ensure you do not have any penalties
What's your web site URL? Other thoughts meantime... 1) As with any business you need to know why you were successful and duplicate this success...the McDonalds principle. You need a system. 2) See Googles own Adsense hotspot chart for most effective ad block placements. 3) Colors used for ad blocks and links will effect CTR. 4) Quality targetted traffic that has a real interest in your subject area ... and this subject area should be as focussed as possible. 5) plus all the other stuff mentioned before.
ppc traffic and natural searchengine traffic are two great sources. I prefer traffic that I don't have to pay for
