    I have a Nikon D2x, fairly new to cameras, its not mine but I have access to it..Anyhow, I wanted to take pictures of my car..Just wondering how do people make pictures look like this..

    I cannot say for sure but it looks like:

    1) Artist's original watercolor
    2) Photoshop plugin


    Try playing with a photo in Photoshop
    Filter>Artisitic>Watercolor

    Nah watercolor was no where close lol..it made it look like a painting..

    I have an old friend that paints wildlife acrylic paintings that is likely the technique used on the bottom pic. It looks like it was drawn from the eyes of an artist.

    I'm not sure, but I think those are HDRs. Google HDR photography and see what you find. And talk to timsdd. He's the DP photography expert. ;)

    It seems like a lot of photoshop work, you cant just take a picture and get that right away ;)

    no way the 2nd one from the OP is just a filter :rolleyes: lots of post with PS there or another program.

    you're right though to expose the subject and the sky all in one you can use a split neutral density filter.

    the 1st one might have been achieved in camera though. crappy exposure of it any case :eek:
