How do you do this effect?

Please take a look at the video link below. I'm trying to learn how to do the disintegration effect on the man.

Anyone out there that can explain how, or possibly link me to an online tutorial? Or was this simply drawn this way...

From what I can see you are on the part where the body has been "Shatterized".
I am thinking maybe a pixillate with some masking but I could be wrong. I will try it out
and get back to this post.

what you can do is duplicate the image and the layer mask it.. .and then for the "disintegration" of the man.. .you can use a brush on it.. .more like an eraser type.. .
