How do you do it? Blog Posting and Social Bookmarking

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by yousellstuff1, Dec 9, 2008.

I have read tons and tons of different threads about both of these topics.

One of my websites is a directory and one is a forum. Is social bookmarking and blog posting effective methods for me to use? IF so, what are good things to bookmark for my websites. The forum is based on electronics, so what kind of things should i do for it.

Where do i find blogs that are related to both my websites

    Thanks for any help
    Brandon

Social bookmarking may not work for a directory but if you have some good discussions on the forum, they might be worth bookmarking.

you can blog about topics related to Directories, talk about the importance of submitting to directories, what are directories for, etc....put these topics on your blog as content, then bookmark each post

Check out the communities that bring in the biggest links and the best traffic: Digg, Reddit, Mixx. Electronics are pretty popular around these sites,so its definitely something that could benefit from bookmarking.

Anyway, the key is to spend some time reading these sites so you get a feel for what the community likes. Controversy is good, humor is good, fan-boy wars between Apple and Google or whatever - those can make good link/bookmark bait.

Just try to find the most interesting topics, submit to the right subcategory, and you'll get some links back and maybe even traffic. The traffic isn't great, people tend to read the page and bounce back to their bookmarking site - but if its a compelling argument people will vote it up and that helps give more weight to the links. If its really interesting, they'll even blog about it on their own websites and link back to you again.
