How do you create a search function?

I've just set up a Google Custom Search Engine, however I ran into problems because my shopping cart pop ups (preview pops) were coming up. This is confusing for shoppers, since these pops do not have add to cart or navigation funtion. If you close them you just go back to the search listings

I've also tried using the Excluded Sites function in the Google custom search engine control panel.

So I think it would be great if I can create a fresh search function ignoring specific pages.

it would be better and more professional for you to create your own search script. If you are using a database it is really easy.

isnt that what hes asking? :p Thats what i got from it anyway, that he wants to make his own, yeah it probably would be really easy, just have a field, when text is inserted, select all tables with that in them and return them? i unno, im thinking of making one myself, but i dont know if that would work (im kind of a newbie) :p

lol i start my it classes next year when i go into high school, im just learning all this before hand, because well it interests me :p

but this is offtopic now, so i suppose i should say something about searching a mysql database.

it would just be a form that posts to a search.php and in search.php you would need to get all tables where your search query was mentioned.
