How do you choose your niche?

There are thousands of niche and sub-niche out there, What make you decided on your chosen niche? Is it your interest? The amount of demand (market) or trend?

By the way what is your chosen niche? Mine is 'Internet Marketing', I chosen it because it's my interest and passion.

very simple, where or what niche have you been working the past 20-30 years
what niche are you a true expert to be of real value to the world
that's your niche, now or in the future

my own niche is in my signature - after most successful life long preparation and 15+ years of dozens of millions site visitors, now at the end of my life and as a conclusion of a life project, all is converted into 2 free torrent file for offline reading

Choose niche based on both market demand your passion in it. This is the best way to go.

However you may also go for a niche with demand but does not match your passion. But be sure to have at least some interest in the niche before you begin.. so that the passion in the niche can be developed later on.

Having passion is essential, then it will be easy for you to connect more deeply with the audience.

Internet marketing is a very vibrant niche.. you have to keep up with the trend at a fast pace.

I chose my niche, because I got started with it, and also after I got started I became more involved in it, and I wanted to learn more about it and perfect it to the highest level.

I came across my first niche because I was reading some blogs about how to make money and tried some of those ideas and decided to write a blog about if these methods work or not. :)

I always start with market samurai.. after I see whether or not there are adwords ads running (commercial value) I do some research to see which keywords have low competition within that niche. If necessary I dig deep for good long tail keywords. For niche ideas... head over to Ebay :)

Personally, I've always went after the most profitable niches -- whether I'm interested in the subject or not. For example, payday loans and credit cards are BIG MONEY MAKERS (see my sig). Although I definitely wasn't an expert in these fields when I started (and didn't have much interest in the subjects before), when the big commission checks started coming in it got me motivated to work harder and become extremely knowlegable. For me, big commission checks are all the motivation I need! I might not be passionate about the subjects themselves -- but I'm passionate about making money!

Some people feel like they need to choose a niche that they're passionate about, but what good is your passion if it doesn't make any money? Is internet marketing a hobby -- or do you want to make it a career and earn a great living? Those are the choices you'll have to make...

    Just my 2 cents ;)

There are many reasons, techniques, emotions, tools, methods, etc. attached to choosing a niche. A simply but effective approach is to pick/find a niche that has a problem attached to it, and that is has enough searches to make worth while your efforts. Competition, or Google will not matter if you know how to 'drive your own traffic' to you site(s).

    1. Niche with a problem attached
    2. Squeeze page
    3. Drive your own traffic

Choosing the right is a very important part of blogging. It look messy if all type of stuff is posted in one blog. It makes a big difference in page views as compare to those blogs which have posted almost everything on a single domain.

It helps to have some personal knowledge about your niche or to have a natural interest in it. This makes researching for your topic bearable as research can be tedious and boring. I use Google Insights too to see which topics are trending to give myself an idea of what's currently hot or on the rise.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

I choose niche when something really interest me. Then you have power to make things and it won't bore you. It needs to be profitable niche but from most of them you can make profits when you believe in it and became an expert.

I think as long as you can give value to any certain niche, then it is a good one to go with. You may know about it already or be learning about it, but I think as long as you are able to provide useful information about the topic, then it would be a good niche for you.
