How do you cash Google check?

I am from India and I have deposited the cheque to my CITIBANK account and it got cleared in 48 hrs, without any commission......

It is possible to get the money in your local currency for every country ?

 

I go in my bank and it takes one minute to get my earnings.
If I get money in my local currency there is 0% commission, If I I get money in $USD there is 0.8% commission for the bank if I want the money immediately or there is 0.3% commission if I get the money after one week.

In here not all banks can cash adsense check especially if you are not their customers.

 

Here go into a bank with a really large guy and say, hey process this by the end of the week with no commission and there shouldn't be any trouble.
Works in the Ukraine.

 

What is the currency of Uzbekistan? Uzbekistan is not on the list of the 42 countries that Google supports local currency for.

That's what I thought, which makes all the postings about getting the checks in loca currency irrelevant.

 

JESUS!!! i couldnt believe this when I read it... the average salary in your country according to surveys is $300 A YEAR!?!?!? WHAT!?

I spend that on booze on a single night... thatd buy me a pair of shoes, a shirt, and a pair of pants and socks..

So does that mean I could hire someone in your country as my personal assistant for $500 a year?

 

See this is why the OP should never have started this post on DP. Too many americans here with no idea about the state of the world.

My answer to the OP is that given that the bank has a monopoly on accepting international cheques it will charge whatever it wants to clear it and you can't do a thing about it.

According to a bank employee I know it takes upto 3 weeks to clear an international cheque in Pakistan. Online bank payment schedules suggest that the charge for clearing a foreign currency cheque is a flat $20 in Pakistan. So things aren't too different here either.

 

I have received the google check on last friday in my local currency(INR). Still, I have not deposited the check, within how many days should I deposit the google check in the bank?

it depends on your bank ,some banks clear the check faster than the other
some clear it in 2 weeks the other maybe 45 days
u can check the citibank branch in your country?

I get my check encashed via my local banks, they take almost $5.25 as processing fee, and it takes almost 1 month for the money to be deposited in my account.I am from Pakistan.

 

Mind if I ask what bank is that?

 

Here in the UK you cash the check just like any check however they take a biiiiiig commission for changing the dollars into the £ and when your checks are only 100$ or so...It adds up
