How do some sites get so high of alexa ranking and google page rank? One example of a site I really like is http://www.eatliver.com If you go this link http://www.smartpagerank.com/result.php?domain=http://www.eatliver.com/&ref=stb It has an alexa ranking below 15,000! And a Google Page Rank of 5 As you can see it has a ton of backlinks and they value the site at over 70,000 dollars! How can an average person like you or me take a site from scratch and turn into something like eatliver.com? What is the secret? Is it a secret or is the knowledge already out there? Or is the secret the person that owns the site had a ton of money to build it up? Or are there free ways to do it? I would love to see others input on this - Please reply with any secrets or knowledge you have this. Look forward to your comments!
You basically have to start out slow, work on SEO and backlinks, and over time, your site will grow. It just takes time is all.
I was able to get to the top of Google by blogging, article submission and press releases. For keyword "edc diamond" which is very competitive in our business...I've been able to get "EDC Diamond to Become the Wave of the Future" to the top of the page. Check it out.
it just takes time to build up..with tym u'll get more referrals from other sites..better search engine results and that will build up traffic..but to get to this level u'll need the good content so that should be your main target,,after which u shud look to promote ur site with social bookmarking, networking with other webmasters,sEO,etc.

I promote on MySpace -- still gets me highly targetted traffic. Use a myspace bot like addmyfriends or something, add friends based on your demographics and promote...send comments, messages, bulletins...lucky for me it's all automated!
The best way and truly speaking, the only right way to get those figures up is by being unique. So unique that people visits your site when they think of that.. Maybe it will take time, but with proper improvisation and content.. The process can be speeded up.
