How do you block your adsense views?

    I thought I read a post here along time ago about blocking your adsense page views? is that recommended?

    This is only applicable if you are showing your adsense information. You need to remove the CTR and page impressions from any details you release publically. The easiest way to do it is create a screenshot, open ms paint (or your image editing program) and white-out all the data in those columns.

    I think he means blocking so you don't see your own ads and thus can't accidently click on them. I usually just turn javascript off. You can also set the ad server address (that googlesyndication address) to 127.0.0.1 in your hosts file.

    I'm not blocking the ads when I visit my site. This way I can also see what ads show up

    If you use ASP or PHP pages, you can write code to not show the ads based on an IP, or several IPs.
