How do you become an official registar of domains?

Well I don't like the insecurity's of trusting a name registar, So i was wondering if there is an easy way to get your own domain names directly of icann? or whoever owns domain names.

    Thanks.

Hi, Icann requires from you a big deposit, not to mention the administrative, develop and service expenses.

Honestly, there are no financial benefits to be ICANN accredited, if you have a small scale operations.

all the post above are true,

Your best bet if you want to do it yourself is to become a domain reseller with a registrar,

We use enom.com API Program and took a basic open source script and are coding in enom's api into it as we speak,

But enom and other registerars offer simplier ways to buy/resell domains directly through them at better rates.

    Hope this helps

read a few of the articles posted above, it seems it costs $65 to save $2 or $3 on domains..

Also you need $70,000($7,000,000?) to pay the $65

Yep its not worth it unless you are selling large volumes of names each month, along with you will need a crap load of capital to get to be a registrar, its really not worth it.

Getting ICANN accredited has great benefits if you can afford it...Its something which gives you credibility and advantage over millions of other domain reselling and hosting companies but its useless if you are buying domains for yourself...nobody would get ICANN accredited just for himself
