Hey, I just wanted to see how everyone else does back up's of their sites. Me, I'm on a shared host and I'm really not sure if they make frequent backup's or not. When I log into Cpanel and go to backup it says something like "this machine is not blah blah something for backups" where the download backup links should be. So.... I "generate/download a full backup" and then wait to get the confirmation email is sent letting me know the backup has been complete, and then download it to my personal PC via FTP which usually takes many hours(with Broadband). I then use WinRAR to open the file and save it. After that it's all good. Well anyways....does anyone know of a quicker way?
I just use a flash drive on which I store all my HTML files, images, HTML editors, and other useful information. So, all the information is on my flash drive, and I upload it when I need to make a change. That is my backup method.
Do a Home Directory backup (as well as any database backups) so that way you can just download the backup directly to your local PC.
Well, most of my sites are designed off line so I would always backup the generated pages on my pc to CD-R and a secondary harddisk. For database, I would do a cpanel backup as above.
