How do you approach other webmasters asking for links?

    After having read this thread, I tend to agree with the post shown below because you would appear more professional, clearly stating your offer/request and the terms of your agreement. However, if you have an article or report it couldn't hurt to offer a little bribe either ;-)

    I think that guest writing like this is a really good idea! I think you'll be most attractive as a guest writer if you have a strong writing portfolio and some area of expertise that overlaps with the topic of the site you are wishing to write for.

    BTW, if you want to get the attention of a webmaster or blogger I find it's best to introduce yourself with a brief message on twitter. Unless someone has 10,000+ followers they're pretty likely to respond if they're active (and even then, they respond more often than to emails, I find).
