I'm not sure which forum is best to post this in but this forum fits the best. Anyways, how would a blogger acquire loyal visitors? Are there any tips besides writing good content often? I'm currently writing about 2 to 3 articles per day on my computer blog and after a month since I have launched the website, my traffic is steadily rising and it's currently at around 80-90 uniques a day. Out of that 80-90 visitors, only about 20% of them are returning visitors. What percentage of returning visitors should I aim for and any tips on how to increase it?
What kind of niche is your blog in ? How many people subscribe to your feed ? How much of your traffic is type-in traffic ?

Hi, I've been experimenting a bit with my blog and I have found that the more narrow and specialized the information, the more likely someone will come back, since most visitors have specific interests. However, a wider net of information will more likely attract a larger range of users, but they are less likely to come back since they are more likely to wonder around googling for information. So there is a trade off. Personally, I think you are doing pretty well with 20%, and your site looks pretty nice. If you have a very specific area of specialization, it may work to attract more returns - however, it may turn off those who are not interested in that subject, so you have to learn to balance the two. Thanks richrf, From the looks of it, most of my visitors that comes to my website (mainly Googlers) lands on a laptop/notebook news posting. And with the feedback you've just provided, the reason behind this is because I'm posting a lot of notebook and laptop reviews more than other.
Give them fresh content or cool tools or if possible both. Basically give them a reason to keep coming back. Good luck!

I think that if you focus on specific aspects of technology that you have specialized knowledge and there is a broad market for, such as laptops, then you will probably get greater retention. Of course, many visitors just come for some one-off advice, but there are people who specialize in this niche and may become regular visitors. Rich
