Its all their skills! some struggle to earn $100 while others make $10k monthly easily with little effort.
What you asked is a million dollar question for every webmaster out here.

Either you are a webmaster or not, making money is not so easy as it looks, no one start earning millions in a day, a week or a month. If I try to give you a perfect answer it would be more lengthy so here is my few points.

    • Knowledge
    • Goal
    • Passion
    • Experience
    • Patience
    • Hard work

These are some important points which can give you success in whatever you do but you need to keep on working harder and harder.

Yes, its 100% true that there are many webmasters who are earning good and many like me are just struggling. Though, I am not a webmaster actually. I have ideas and passion and I keep myself updated with current market strategies and knowledge.
All the best for your future!:)

Very true. Luck does come into play, however it is hard work and passion about what you are doing that gives you more opportunities for some luck to kick in.

As with any career, sometimes it just takes one big break. For me, I had been working for YEARS on my site, not making a dime. One day I got my site featured in a huge newsletter (1 million+ subscribers). That kind of kick started my site to the next level. Other sites starting linking to me, news reports starting using my site and linking to me... It is a snow ball effect from there... As you grow more links, the search engines send you more traffic... and as you get more traffic you make more money and can grow your site more...

So for me, it was hard work for many years to build my site up to even get noticed by some big time online folks... You have build something up that is helpful to people, and have a passion about it.

If you are just doing it for the money... Or if you expect to make big money right away... You'll never get there.

There's only one rule: Working intelligently, it isn't how hard you work, its how wise. Knowing what to do and when to do it. Good luck

Luck, passion, knowledge, learn, think and work smart ....

I know few programmer charge their customer thousand's for setting a cms that take then a month to do, but i did the same thing (cms) and charge my client 1k that i able to finish the job in 2 day (1 n half day in design) ....
Yeah open source and theme help me a lot ....
the different between me and them is i have no pride, i don't mind using joomla + theme (modify) to create a nice running site, them ? they need to do their own code, own design ......
My fees might be low but i have more time to create more ......

The story abt me, get involve with internet is "Rubbish", 4 year ago i was a rubbish collector (recycle business), one day i found a piece of rubbish (car bulb) that look so funny, which i think it might worth some money, but ppl around me don't have the knowledge abt it, so i went internet (yahooing, sorry the time i can't even spell google) and i start my first trading by selling rubbish to USA (they treat it as gold), then start my first web portal (phpbb forum), till today i have few's web (income from AD), selling domain, web solution company (not even happen in dream, four year ago) ........... I call this luck :)

    btw i do trade online .... :)

Annnnnnd you nailed it. Remember this line the next time anyone here thinks about buying an ebook or some other junk presented to you on a 5,000 word sales page.

Nice answer: They make a plan and put it to action.

Rude answer: They don't sit around wasting their time asking others how to make money! They are the ones working on their websites while you sit in a forum asking people how to make money.
