    I want to know the things to keep in mind while optimizing a single website with a .com domain in 3 different countries??
    Do we need to purchase the domain extensions of the respective countries we are targeting??

    Yes, its definitely impact on country searching. For example, if we have a domain like (.com.uk) then website appearance would be much in Google UK. Same as .pk for Pakistan and further more. Other thing is your articles, what kind of you are publishing, and where these article searching occurrence. These are the Seo strategies.

    I think there are certain ways to do them like using the countries code in the end of the search like keywords/keyord phrases.au or uk or us.

    If you are using 3 different address and all contact details are different so it easy to promote and get ranking in Goolge.

    use
    <meta name = "keywords" lang = "en" content = "vacation, Greece, sunshine">
    <meta name = "keywords" lang = "en-us" content = "vacation, Greece, sunshine">
    <meta name = "keywords" lang = "en" content = "holiday, Greece, sunshine">
    <meta name = "keywords" lang = "fr" content = "vacances, Gr & egrave; ce, soleil">
    if you have only one page, but you need the entire conten in all three languages, the content is king and only with meta data you achieve nothing. create at least the subdomains for individual languages, there grab the translated version of your page to and optimizing it gradually
