Im talking about sites like uselessjunk, thatvideosite, bag-boys... Do the check copyright of every video or just publish the videos and remove them if there are complaints? What are the chances of them being sued? :D Thanks!

Most of those websites add the videos almost at their own risk, removing them if there are complaints giving the usual yada yada that someone submited the video saying they were the copyright holders or something like that...

Works of another may be used under the "fair use" provision of the Copyright Act. A court will examine a number of factors involved in an alleged-violatar's use of the protected work, including the commecial nature behind the use. It is possible that these video websites could claim fair use.

The thing is, if a person thinks his work has been illegally used, he has to go through the legal steps to correct the situation, but he first has to find out about the use. Then, he may not even want to stop the use, especially if the video site gives the owner a link back or more fame and notoriety.

There are a lot of factors involved, some of which may not be apparent.
