Black hat no longer works. This isn;t the 90's anymore.

Everyone has access to blackhat, tht diminishes the overall effectivness.

Second, seach engines are cracking odwn on blackhat

and third big companies pay for inclusion and dont use blackhat. There is more competition

google has a sandbox which keeps all of the blackhats out

If this worked I would do it. Set up a page about 'auto loans' get #7 spot on google within a few weeks and make $$$$$$$$$$$$, but it doesn't work that way unless you have massive PR and links and crap.

I suspect the 'black hat' practitioners (more about IBLs/Doms/Markup btw) go for volume on the lesser engines. By that I mean MSN and others that give you quick turnaround. They rarely have anything in the way of usable content, just enough text to provide basic density. They don't bother with organics (growth), just Bam, it's there, content and IBLs. Nor diversity of media, language, locations, or the rest of the stuff that adds to a more sustainable rank.

Churn. That's what it's all about nowadays.. if you want longevity on the other hand, the tactics have to change. And a slow walk it is too.

But believe me, so called 'black hat' works. And if done properly it works well. Unfortunately, most folk don't know how to do it well, and instead buy into the quick fix dross (tools) that float by every day. They chew up their time, kill off their resources (exclusions and the like), and wind up wondering what happened.

No matter how you play the game, you gotta take the time to learn. It'll never be handed out on a silver platter - unless of course it serves the butler ;)

    Cheers,

    JL

    Hello,

I do lots of sites, and almot daily..
I am not claiming having tons of traffic, but i can tell you wnat makes/gives me the first push-up for new domains.. it is backdoor pages.

On a domain that i already have running, i place a hidden iframe for a week of so containing a link to the new site, a page with lots of backdoor links to the new site.. Thats it.

In a matter of a week, you will see spiders eating those.. and comes the big question!!! shall you remove those hidden links, or keep them?

My answer, i always remove them as it is not worth it to get blacklisted as a SE spammer..

Just in case that might be of any help. ;)

What if you used Black Hat SEO to promote a site with good content?

You can if you want to...and if you target your keywords into a good niche you will drive more traffic to your site but....
It'll bite you in the end when your site gets delisted.

Few months back someone I know made a fake webstore and submitted it to froogle. After google approved his site he uploaded over 100,000 items from ebay to froogle. He was getting over 15,000 clicks a day but google took down the site after five days. He said he made over 3000 in those 5days.
