It's because they run a network of sites. For example Weblogs Inc. runs a network of blogs:
PS3 Fanboy, WoW Insider, XBOX360 fanboy, Wii fanboy, ds fanboy, psp fanboy, Big Download, and Fan House... And probably a bunch of other sites.

As you can see their niche is Video Gaming. Furthermore all of their sites are a subniche of gaming. So their sites are very targeted. Someone who likes PS3's isn't going to enjoy the DS website.

Unless you run a business there's basically no chance one website will be making you a million dollars.

It's rare that a webmaster makes millions, but it's possible if you have millions and millions of users, yes it's possible, but of course it depends on what market you are in. Most webmasters don't earn that number, but I think one may be ok bringing in a couple of thousand to start. I think just focus first on making 100 dollars per day then focus on the millions. But well you can get lucky.

More than you think, trust me ;). Most of them keep their mouths quiet - it's very possible to do this. You really need to get into affilaite marketing though to reach that quickly.

First year I tried affiliate marketing, two years ago, I netted a good 300k. That was two years ago.

They do it by selling ads space/link at their website
On top of it,they also sell sponsored review that is quite profiting business

Antsaoo mentions something about Mike Filsaime.

Well..., you need to take into consideration that Mike Filsaime has about 400.000 subscribers on his lists (I don't know exact numbers, but I was on his lists before). He is a very smart marketer since he looked for his bread with car sale early. He switched over to IM business in 2003.

And it is also important that he is a member of the inner circle of Big Names, so he has connections and proper staff to handle his business.

So with a word, he is an other category than all of us, anyway he is helpful person. (No, I'm not an agent for him;))

Good content, working your butt off to get consistent traffic, and lots of luck.
