I have windows xp on my computer and it has the latest sp2 whatever that is update that it needs. If I am directed to the PHP site i do not understand what its talking about as yet so I really need to be told. Kr,
Second vote for XAMPP here. I had some problems choosing the right versions of apache and php to work together smoothly, and finally gave up and went with XAMPP. It was a breeze.
Thanks chose xampp and tried a simple script or two and they work fine after realiseing I had to place these things in htdocs folder. Brilliant! next step world domination. Kr,
world domination requires perl. If only PHP was needed, everyone would be dominating the world and then it would just be silly.
I run all my servers on Windows with Apache, MySQL and PHP. For an FTP server I use BulletProof FTP Server. If I run a mail server I use Mercury Mail.
This is the best option to look at, my preferred localhost server However, if you still want to install Apache and PHP as stand-alone, make sure to download the Windows (or Mac) binaries and install a smaill webservers such as Abyss Webserver. www.aprelium.com Just provide in the configuration console the path for PHP. However for fully featured webserver stick to Xampp from Apache Friends.
