how do search engines make money

    how do search engines make money i am wondering this because i would like to create a search engine entirely from scratch no custom google search engine if you could please kindly help thank you

    search engines make money thru the ads that they display along with the organic searches, like Google makes money through Adwords and AdSense.

    But making a search engine isn't a big deal but running and maintaining it is not easy and also the type of marketing that a search engine requires is huge you need to be to good to become successful so dont think that starting a search engine and earning money is easy.

    i don't think you fully understand the mammoth task you are taking on.starting a search engine could be the hardest task anyone online could ever try to take on.

    I wouldn't bother creating a search engine, unless it's some kind of pet project. You probably wouldn't have enough money to make it succesful (i.e. $millions for a start) and you'd need a very large team to get it off the ground, advertise it, protect it from all sorts of attack etc.
