How do professional link builders build links?

    Hi!
I have seen several offers from professional link builders which claim to build any number of one way links. The price goes from about 1000 USD per month for about 30 links every month to 2-8 USD per link.
How do they build one way links? As link building is not my favourite activity and my sites make enough money to afford those services I would love to outsource the whole link building thing.
But I don't want to have links to my sites from ffa and spam sites or pages that are only built to put links on them. I also don't want to pay 1000$ for some (paid or free) directory listings or links from free article sites.
I'm looking for permanent high quality topic related links. Are there professionals out there who offer this, whats the price and HOW do they do this?
    Please share your experiences.

Most professional link builders and SEO's use basic techniques. Usually if people know what SEO stands for then they probably do not need one.

Do you have any specific "professional link builders" in mind? From my experiences, link builders are shady, spammy, black hat SEO's trying to make a quick buck. Then again I havn't researched it much...

I am currently sourcing by hand one way links for a client from this forum. I won't tell you how I am doing it because my work will be wiped out by others undercutting me once they find out my method. My fees are $275.00 via Paypal. I promise to find 100 links (mostly site relevant, all depending on the site) and I do not use link farms or anythig spammy. I have a large client base that I use and have never let me down.

That seems like a descent price for 100 quality links. Can you expand on what sort of quality you can provide? You say that the links will be "mostly site relevant", but what exactly does that mean?

Well, the usual kind of normal text links. Not banners. By "site-relevant" I mean the backlink will be coming from a site that will be relevant to yours. For example: If your site was about dogs, then I would find sites that have at least something to do with dogs or pets. This is not always possible due to the lack of quality sites in different topics. For example, there might be 20 million quality web sites on hosting, but only 20 thousand sites on asp capable hosting (these figures are only a sample, please don't quote me on that!).

There are a few common methods, though it involves having a large network of sites yourself.

The first is simply to give your clients links on your network. Not great, but it offers more control over the links, though this would be my least preferred way of buying in links.

The second would be to have partner sites that are owned by a third party with links pages added. The site owner is paid by the link builder for each link placed on the link pages.

The third and best IMO is through normal link exchange emails. The third part links to the client site and the link builder links to the third party from his own network.

Most other link building methods are based on variations of these.

There are 5 main ways to build permanent one way links:
    1) Directory submission
    2) Article submission
    3) Putting links on sites owned by the linkbuilder
    4) Spamming on blogs, wikis, forums etc
    5) Link baiting

Sometimes a linkbuilder has friends/partners who have sites and they allow the linkbuilder to place outgoing links on them. This comes under number 3.

Link baiting is hard and doesn't come cheap. Depending on the niche I would be charging upwards of $5k. Also link baiting really requires you to have a pretty good site to start with for people to link to it.

Obviously you won't employ a spammer so that really just leaves methods 1,2 and 3.

    Interesting stuff.
I have my dedicated staff doing link building for me.
The way that realy works is:
    1. Find out relevant sites owned by individuals in your genre. Write them a nice email saying that you are the webmater of this xyz site and since they got suc a great site, if they give link to us, it will be usefull to their visitors. Success rate is one out of 50.

    2. Give a link to them from one of your non relavant not so popular site. And in return ask them link to your main site.

Method 1 is the best white hat method though sure enough it i complex, costly and time consuming. but at the end of the day method one is more fruitful.

MattUK, as of now I dont provide this service to others (used to but now got enough of my sites already).
There are many providers in DP which provide this service. My posting is just a guideline as to how to ensure that you are getting proper worth of your dollar:)

MattUK, could you PM me the forum names of these providers? Would be nice if you add information about how worthy their work is.
