This isn't a political view on anything. It's just why do they run the campaigns on tv saying bad things about the other guy? It sounds like they are 10 years old when they say things.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Yea, but doesn't that mean you can speak out against your own government rather than saying things to other people or is that a loop hole since they are trying to work for the government in some form or another?
Politicians are politicians, before or after they are elected. Look at the shitbags we have in office now. Can you imagine how much worse they would be if it were illegal to speak the truth about politicians before they are elected? We might have actually elected that lying treasonous gigolo John Kerry and his twisted sidekick the Breck girl. As Thomas Jefferson wrote, “I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.â€
I have to be careful with my points since I'm military not to get too much into politics. It's nice that we can say things about politicians, but seriously it doesn't seem like it's helping to say things about the other guy negatively. Can't they focus on what they are doing because the way I see it is that they are too busy fighting each other than focusing on the tasks at hand which never seem to go anywhere. You can't really say John Kerry would of been worst than Bush because one got his chance and didn't really do anything with it and the other never got his chance.
Your point is well taken 24, Spencer should be committed for everyones sake as a good example. As long as there is an audience the malformed will take advantage of whatever weaknesses exist. A mature society in the long run is the only solution. The military is no exception and is replete with discriminatory codes within its daily routine that may not be directly involved with political activity but is non the less administered to the same affect.
Odds are that if you're saying something nice about a politician, you're lying. It's difficult to discuss the positive points of blood sucking leeches. Negative campaigning works. It's worked at least since Roman times. It been en vogue in American politics since it killed Barry Goldwater's campaign in '64. Nobody is going to stop doing it as long as it works and it's going to keep working as long as human nature remains the same as it has been for at least thousands of years. And who knows, perhaps Rosie O'Donnell would make a great quarterback for the Redskins?
I'm not arguing that he would of been great. Trust me I don't really like politicians for what I've seen them do and for how much they really don't do, but rosie o donnel is not a good example. She's not allowed to play in the NFL since she's female, but yes I think she would make a great quarterback. Probably better than what they have now. I'm a farve fan though, so any other quarterback can go out the window.
