How do people make money with a SMTP Server?

    How do people make money with a SMTP Server? Also what do you need before you buy one, like a VPS or such?

    I guess I'm the only one that could tell the original poster has no idea what he is talking about.

    VPS = Virtual Private Server. It's a dedicated server "partitioned" and allocated to create multiple virtual servers with dedicated resources. Unlike shared hosting accounts you have your own OS and install whatever you would like. Other users cannot access your VPS.

    SMTP = Send Mail Transfer Protocol. The program that allows you to send mail from a server.

    Most servers have mail programs. If you would like to use your own dedicated mail server you would need either a VPS or Dedicated Server. VPS would be cost effective.

    How does someone make money with a SMTP? They don't....unless they provide a mailing service of some such.
