Facebook apps and games are the only real ways to make good money on facebook. The conversion rates for facebook advertising are horrible, it's alright for CPA but very bad for info products. People go on facebook to socialize, not shop.

I have some friends who run online boutiques on facebook and are making some good money from it, around $1,500 to $3,000 a month.

I've read that games like texas hold 'em and farmvile make up to $40,000 a day from game currency sales and advertising, now that is some crazy money. But unless you've got the backing of some silicon valley venture capital fund, you can forget about it. They spent millions in advertising and development to get there.

I also have some friends who play the games and sell the currency to others, which is not really allowed, but they make good money from it, like $1,000 to $3,000+ a month. But they spend more than 12 hours a day playing games... One of them told me recently that it's not even fun anymore, it's just work. hehe.
