How do people come up with HUNDREDS of articles?

I've seen people asking for 100+ articles to be written for them on an easily researchable and popular topic, and people do it for them for $50 - $500!
How? If people are going to be paying hundreds of dollars, then the content must be original. If the content is original then it must take a very long time to write. Do they have a team of writers? How long would it take a few writers to do 100 articles?
    curious me...

Many of them steal content from other sites.

It's possible for even a single individual to churn out 100+ articles in a matter of days if the person is either recycling from other websites, writing without research, writing the same thing over and over in different ways, or some combination of all of the above.

Even a few writers can complete 100 articles in a day, if there are 10 writers who do 10 each, or even 5 writers who do 20 each. Bulk articles usually aren't all that original or written with the best of effort.

I think the writers who accept bulk assignments mostly look at the $ amount they are receiving for the order rather than the amount of work it takes to complete the order.

I agree. When I first started, I use to write 250-500 articles per week. Don't ask me how I did it as I was very young and had the energy and the brain power I guess. YES, I would look at the full amount for the project and not the per article rate. (My brain said no more!)

Then I began collaborating with other writers and eventually I had to decide what types of projects I wanted to take on. So I lessened up on the huge bulk orders to save my brain ;) and grew my business more into a writing copy and marketing firm over bulk articles and now adding IT consulting and starting to add SEO services (slowly).

If I could still do the articles, I would but my brain can't take it anymore or my pockets.

As most of the people who posted in this thread mentioned, people who take on that much work at a time are not too concerned about the quality of their final product.

Even if that isn't the case, the quality of their work WILL suffer simply because they are trying to tackle too much at once.

If more writers realized they could market their services elsewhere, no one would have to be a human article mill and churn out 100's of articles a week just to make a buck.

I have had articles written like 50 and they were average, some of them were good.

I'm now writing articles myself with speach software but since I'm new it takes me 40-60 minutes per article.

I think the more I write/talk I will get faster at doing them.

    Thanks
    Sean

It will be a wishful thinking if you were to believe that the people will come up with 50 or 100 new articles in 5 days.
More probably than not, a group of 5 will be recycling stuff from other websites.

The quality is boud to detiorate!

Oh I totally agree. When I was doing the big bulk orders of articles, the quality was nothing I was proud of but the clients at the time, didn't care about quality. All they wanted was their keywords placed throughout the content and the words used several times for Adsense purposes. (This was obviously before all the changes.)

I can write a 500-word article in about 15 minutes when it comes to personal narrative, but if research on a specific topic is involved, time may increase drastically to produce good quality originals.

Some people take the challenge to write bulk articles on their own, but more often is an editor with a team of writers the person who negotiates bulk orders.

    Definitely so.

Most times it comes to writers being too concerned about selling their work and at the same time lacking that marketing sense to do it in the way their pieces of writing deserve.

It's just crap. And if anyone wants to prove otherwise, post multiple samples and I'll show you why it's crap.

I've seen hundreds of articles from these guys and I've never seen one that was good quality. However, they might be okay for SE stuff, but you wouldn't want any human to see them. It's stuff that you put up on throw away sites.

What is the normal amount of time that it takes to develop a well-researched, well-developed, high-quality article? On average, of course, I know that everyone is different...

I believe it depends on how knowledgeable or experienced you are, but also on complexity of topics covered.

"When I first started, I use to write 250-500 articles per week."

50-100 articles per work day (i am assuming 5 working days)? are you sure about this figure?
If going by another poster's statement that he can write an article in 15 minutes, then at his speed it should take you about 750 minutes (12.5 hours) for writing 50 articles and 1500 minutes (25 hours) for a hundred. :)

Yeah but do you actually care about the final result? What is the quality of all these articles? Can you please tell me where to find something written by you?
I am really interested to read something.
