I've heard of osCommerce and zencart.....how does it work? Does it say when and where someone is located, and then I manually send it out to them?

Would places like cafepress be better or easier?

When someone makes a purchase of whatever you are selling with os or zen they check out through the shopping cart and what every payment gateways that you have set up. When they check out the customer puts in an address for you to reach them at and then you can send whatever your product is to them. I think I have heard of a module for osCommerce that deals with electronic downloads but I can't remember if thats right or not.

Thats's a slightly strange question - have you never bought anything online? did you not notice yourself filling in your address and payment details?

I noticed filling things out, but I've never sold anything. I didn't know if the seller had to manually look at my address to decide taxes or if the computer system knew.

Whatever payment method you choose to use through your shopping cart, pretty mush takes care of all that.
